Oakland 9, at Texas 0: Former Dodger Brett Tomko pitched a five-hitter for his 100th major league win, and the Athletics administered more damage to the Rangers' fading playoff hopes.

at Detroit 6, Toronto 5 (10 innings): Marco Scutaro's second error of the game allowed Brandon Inge to score from second base in the bottom of the 10th and win it for the AL Central-leading Tigers, after pinch-hitter Aubrey Huff's three-run homer had tied it in the ninth.

at Minnesota 6, Cleveland 3: Michael Cuddyer's tying three-run homer sparked the Twins' six-run eighth-inning rally against the Indians bullpen, spoiling a strong start by Jeremy Sowers.

at New York 5, Angels 3: Mark Teixeira hit a two-run triple in the fifth inning, then doubled to start the go-ahead rally in the eighth.
