Fromme plans move to upstate

September 16, 2009|Times Wire Reports

Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, the Charles Manson follower convicted in 1975 of pointing a gun at President Ford in Sacramento, is moving to upstate New York, officials said.

Oneida County Undersheriff Peter Paravati and state police spokesman Lt. Glenn Miner said federal authorities notified their offices about Fromme, 60, moving into the town of Marcy after her release from federal prison last month. She had served 34 years.

Dist. Atty. Scott McNamara said police told him about the move. "If she has arrived, nobody's heard from her," he said.
