at Seattle 3, New York 2: Ichiro Suzuki's two-out, two-run homer off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning won it for the Mariners and Felix Hernandez, who pitched an eight-hitter. It was Rivera's second blown save in 42 chances.

Boston 3, at Baltimore 1: Clay Buchholz pitched six innings of five-hit ball, Jason Bay hit his team-high 34th homer and the Red Sox extended their winning streak against the Orioles to six games.

at Tampa Bay 11, Toronto 4: James Shields won at home for the first time in more than three months, and Evan Longoria hit his 31st homer and had three RBIs for the Rays, who won for just the third time in 16 games.

Kansas City 11, at Chicago 0: Luke Hochevar pitched a three-hitter for his first career shutout and Miguel Olivo hit a pair of two-run homers and drove in a career-high six runs.

at Oakland 2, Cleveland 1: Brett Anderson struck out 10 in six innings, and he and three relievers combined on a six-hitter.

Angels 2, at Texas 0: Scott Kazmir got his first win in four starts as an Angel.
