The holidays are a season of beauty — if the abundance of offerings related to looks is any indication. We've culled the outpouring to bring gift-givers some ideas in a range of prices for a variety of pretty predilections. Don't be surprised if your cup runneth over with beatific smiles Christmas morning.

FOR THE RECORD:
Holiday gifts: On Dec. 12, an article about beauty and fragrance gifts listed three Antica Farmacista home ambience scents as though they were two products: Vanilla Bourbon, Mandarin & Grapefruit and Sandalwood. The three scents are Vanilla, Bourbon & Mandarin; Grapefruit; and Sandalwood Amber. —

For the serious makeup lover

This time of year, her makeup and perfume favorites often come with gifts with purchases, making it a fast and economical way to stock up. Just confirm what her favorite brand is (particularly if it's perfume), and you're golden.

>>>Two good department store options are Lancôme Limited Edition Beauty Sensation in a choice of Glamour Golds or Party Pinks ($49.50 with any Lancome Purchase, http://www.macys.com) or the Estee Lauder Golden Blockbuster Set ($55 with any Estee Lauder fragrance purchase, http://www.macys.com).

>>>The artistically inclined may favor the Lorac Box Office Sensation Train Case ($56, Sephora.com) or Tarte the Jewelry Box Limited Edition Palette, which also comes with a necklace ($52, http://www.sephora.com).

For the romantically inclined

She loves flowers and flounces and there's a fading Jane Austen novel tucked in her bookshelf. These gifts match her sweet and slightly Victorian disposition. Give her:

>>>Rose & Co. Fairy Cakes & Fancies for the Bath ($16, http://www.urbanoutfitters.com)

>>>"Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights" ($15 to $27.95, http://www.amazon.com). Author Jessica Kerwin Jenkins writes of the elegance and beauty found in both the ordinary and the extraordinary.

>>>Paul & Joe Holiday Symphony Eye & Lip Color Set ($58, http://www.paulandjoe.com, http://www.urbanoutfitters.com)

>>>Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Tutu Holiday Eau de Parfum Spray ($105, http://www.nordstrom.com)

>>>Cire Trudon Les Parfums d'Intérieur — a collection of hand-crafted room scents such as Nazareth ($142, http://www.aedes.com, http://www.ciretrudon.com)

For the beauty aficionado

She knows that bright matte lips are on deck for spring 2011, has an encyclopedic knowledge of cult beauty brands and can spot a true classic at a glance. Give her:

>>> Chanel N°5 Now and Forever Luxuries Gift Set ($142, http://www.chanel.com)

>>>Josie Beauty in a Box: Orglamic Revolution ($52, sephora.com) or Intelligent Nutrients Certified Organic Face the Holidays Stress-free Gift Set and Essential Stocking Stuffer Gift Set ($149, $25 http://www.intelligentnutrients.com)

>>>Clarisonic Plus with Dr. Brandt, Peter Thomas Roth, Ole Henriksen and Perricone MD, includes, as the name implies, the Clarisonic skin-care device plus products from the named skin-care experts. ($225, http://www.sephora.com)

She looks good, will travel

Curious, worldly and on the go, she will consider these gifts passports to a beautiful, relaxing voyage:

>>>Lights Out Sleep Mask ($15) for beauty rest en-route or the Little Honey Eye Masks ($14) and Neck Pillows ($20) that come in fun and chic patterns such as Grey Carousel and Multi-stripe. Combine with a cashmere travel blanket and plush socks or slippers to transform the flight from airborne to heavenly. (All at Flight 001 in Los Angeles or at http://www.flight001.com)

>>>Green & Spring Relaxing Travel Set ($38, http://www.barneys.com)

>>>Dior Deluxe Holiday Travel Palette ($75, http://www.saksfifthavenue.com) or Bobbi Brown Holiday Glamour Set ($100, http://www.nordstrom.com)

She's trendy and fabulous

Her favorites include glitter, tartans, studs, metallics. For the older teen or the woman who simply dares to wear what's of the moment, try:

>>>Make Up For Ever Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes — Metallic waterproof eyeliners in a studded case ($36, http://www.sephora.com)

>>>MAC She's Got it All Apply, Define & Line Brush Collection in a trendy tartan and studded bag ($49.95, http://www.maccosmetics.com)

>>>Deborah Lippmann All that Jazz Nail Color ($40, http://www.nordstrom.com)

Budget friendly

These are thoughtful but won't break the bank:

>>>Philosophy Gingerbread Foaming Bubble Bath & Shower Gel — a surprisingly delicious scent that's not overtly food-centric or cloying ($16, http://www.philosophy.com)

>>>Slatkin holiday candles in festive scents such as Winter, Fresh Balsam and Homemade Cookies ($10, http://www.bathandbodyworks.com)

>>>E.L.F. Eyeshadow Palette 100 Shades ($10) and Hypershine & Lip Gloss sold individually or as a gift set ($1 to $5, http://www.target.com)

>>>Burt's Bees Pomegranate Spa Set and Lip Balm Tin Ornament ($20 and $10, http://www.burtsbees.com)

>>>Sonia Kashuk Dripping in Diamonds eight-piece cosmetic brush set in a sparkly silver clutch ($21.99, http://www.target.com)
