Each skater had five runs to land the best possible tricks, with the highest scores counting toward the results.

Brown's winning run was his second. He did a back flip across the gap from the entrance ramp and followed that by hitting 21 feet 8 inches with a 540-degree turn off of the vertical ramp. The tricks earned him a score of 93.66.

Silver medalist Bob Burnquist finished just behind Brown with a score of 93.00, which he also posted on his second run. Rob Lorifice took bronze with his second-run score of 87.66.
