ATLANTA — Marvin Williams scored 26 points to lead three scorers with 20 or more points and the Atlanta Hawks defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 119-114, in overtime Sunday night to clinch a playoff berth.
The Hawks got their first win over the Spurs in five years, ending a seven-game losing streak against San Antonio.
Joe Johnson's jump shot with 1:21 remaining in overtime gave Atlanta a 113-111 lead. After San Antonio's Matt Bonner missed a three-point attempt, Al Horford hit a jump shot as the shot clock expired to push the lead to four points with 35 seconds remaining.
