The Holiday Inn (to be rechristened the Luxe City Center Hotel on June 15), 1020 S. Figueroa St.; (310) 440-3090 or (213) 748-1291, http://www.luxecitycenter.com. It stands nine stories tall, its 180 spacious rooms positioned right across the street from L.A. Live, an easy stroll to the convention center. Rates now typically run $159-$300, less with auto club or AARP discounts. After the rebranding, the starting brochure rate will rise to $190, but advance-booking discounts could knock 10%-20% off that figure. Parking $25.
