Silver City Blues Festival

When, where: May 28-30, Gough Park and other downtown venues

Highlights: For the 15th year, blues performers and fans converge for concerts and street dancing during this musical block party. Between the jam sessions, vendors sell artisan wares and ethnic foods.

Sun Valley Wellness Festival

Highlights: The 13th annual weekend of mind and body wellness brings together experts and practitioners. Jamie Lee Curtis will be the keynote speaker, and Grammy winner Colbie Caillat will perform.

Wine, Waves & Beyond: Central Coast Longboard Classic

Highlights: This first annual celebration features a screening of "180 Degrees South," beer, wine and food tastings, a five-course dinner prepared by chefs from five local resort restaurants, surf contests, an awards ceremony and after-party.

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival

When, where: June 3 to Sept. 25, Vanier Park

Highlights: This yearly waterfront presentation of Shakespeare's great comedies and tragedies will include "Much Ado About Nothing," "Antony and Cleopatra," "Falstaff" and "Henry V."

The "Goonies" 25th Anniversary Celebration

When, where: June 4-7, various locations in Astoria

Highlights: Fans of the cult classic can meet cast members Corey Feldman and Joe Pantoliano, attend a dinner with them, take a bus tour of film locations (including going inside the Goonies house) and enjoy a "Goonies"-themed concert featuring Feldman's band, Truth Movement. There will also be a red-carpet screening of the film and a new documentary about the movie, plus the grand opening of the new Oregon Film Museum, a treasure hunt and a 5K run/walk.
