POP MUSIC

Deerhunter The ambient punk four-piece from Atlanta took two years to release its fourth full-length, but the album's been stirring up critical and fan adulation since it debuted in September. Expect to hear charismatic beanpole frontman Bradford Cox sing woozy blog-hits such as "Helicopter," "Primitive 3D" and "Revival." High Places and Casino versus Japan open. The Music Box, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. 9 p.m. $20. (213) 746-4674. themusicbox.la/.

DJ Shadow The producer savant made his name in avant-garde turntable wizardry as focused on the head as it is the hips, but he has returned to his hip-hop roots in recent years. Catch him amid his first North American solo tour in three years, which will include a bewitching smorgasbord of visual and auditory stimulus. House of Blues Anaheim, 1530 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim. 8 p.m. $30. http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/anaheim/.
