College football games to watch this week

No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Auburn go on the road against unranked opponents; Texas Christian plays host to vastly improved San Diego State.

Games to watch this week in college football:

Georgia (5-5) at No. 2 Auburn (10-0)

Saturday, 12:30 p.m., Channel 2

Auburn tries to preserve its perfect season and national title hopes against the backdrop of pay-for-play allegations regarding star quarterback Cam Newton. Georgia has won four of its last five since a 1-4 start that included a ghastly loss at Colorado. The pick: Auburn.

San Diego State (7-2) at No. 3 Texas Christian (10-0)

Saturday, 1 p.m., Versus

Is it possible TCU will be flat after last week's emphatic win at Utah? Maybe, but the Horned Frogs still should have enough talent to overwhelm the visiting Aztecs, who have vastly improved under second-year Coach Brady Hoke. The pick: TCU.

No. 1 Oregon (9-0) at California (5-4)

Saturday, 4:30 p.m., Versus

This may not seem like much of a challenge for the Ducks, except Cal is 4-0 at home and the game is in Berkeley. Cal's staff is also loaded with former Oregon staffers, including Coach Jeff Tedford, once the Ducks' offensive coordinator. The pick: Oregon.
