Up next for the Galaxy: Sunday at Chicago

L.A. takes on the Fire without the suspended Beckham, Juninho and Jovan Kirovski, and probably the injured Donovan too.

April 17, 2011

Galaxy today

at Chicago

When: 1 p.m. PDT.

Where: Toyota Park, Bridgeview, Ill.

On the air: TV: KFTR (live), Prime Ticket (delayed, 5 p.m.); Radio: 1150, 1220.

Records: Galaxy 2-1-3; Fire 1-2-1.

Record vs. Fire (2010): 0-1-1.

Update: There will be no David Beckham, no Juninho, no Jovan Kirovski and very probably no Landon Donovan on the field for the Galaxy on Sunday afternoon. The first three players are suspended and Donovan, who sat out the last two games because of an inflamed right knee, could sit out this one too. The Fire is coming off a 4-2 road loss to the expansion Portland Timbers on Wednesday night, the same evening that the Galaxy played to a 0-0 tie at Toronto. "When you walk off the field and you don't have three points, you know you have a lot of work ahead of you, and we do," Coach Bruce Arena said. The Galaxy three times hit the post or crossbar during the game in Canada. Arena's team, in third place in the Western Conference, is averaging 0.83 goals per game but is giving up 1.0 per game. Chicago, in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, is averaging 1.75 goals per game but is giving up 2.25.
