The annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday offered a rare appearance by the entire first family: the president, the first lady, daughters Malia and Sasha, and grandmother Marian Robinson.
Protocol dictated that the Easter Bunny was announced first, just before the first family appeared on the South Portico.
First Lady Michelle Obama, the official hostess, was introduced by the president as someone who is "doing extraordinary work” and “also keeping me in line.”
She welcomed guests by saying, “It’s a beautiful day just for you” and urging them to get going by rolling eggs, doing yoga and trying out an obstacle course.
The first lady wore a full-skirted yellow sleeveless dress, its abstract print featuring black, white and gray.
The family dog, Bo, had his star turn later at the “Storytime Stage,” where Malia and Sasha took turns reading “Where the Wild Things Are.”
