Galaxy today

at FC Dallas

When: 4 PDT.

Where: Pizza Hut Park, Frisco, Texas.

On the Air: TV: FSW, Galavision; Radio: 1150, 1330.

Records: Galaxy 4-1-3; Dallas 2-3-1.

Record vs. Dallas (2010): 2-0 regular season; 0-1 playoffs.

Update: David Beckham, stuffed with wedding cake after his hurried trip to England, will be out to prove that his royal excursion in the midst of an MLS season was not a mistake. The rest of the Galaxy players will be out to show Dallas that they should have beaten the reigning Western Conference champion last season instead of losing, 3-0, in Carson in the conference final. Dallas will be without its key player, David Ferreira, the league's most valuable player in 2010. Ferreira's right ankle was broken in two places in a game against the Vancouver Whitecaps last Saturday. Without Ferreira, Coach Schellas Hyndman's side is considerably less of a threat. "He's the player that this team really counts on," Hyndman said. "He's the leading scorer on the team and so he will be missed, but it's something we can't change. So much of our game plans work through David. It's going to affect us, but I think players will step up."
