Up next for Chivas: Saturday at Colorado

New acquisition Juan Pablo Angel is the player to watch, but it's unknown if he'll play.

August 20, 2011

Chivas USA tonight

AT COLORADO

When: 6 PDT.

Where: Dick's Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, Colorado.

On the air: TV: KDOC, KWHY.

Records: Chivas USA 7-8-9; Colorado Rapids 10-6-10.

Record vs. Colorado: 0-1-0.

Update: Chivas USA finally has a striker in Juan Pablo Angel. Weeks after the international trade window opened, the team looked across town rather than overseas for someone to aid the offense. On Wednesday Angel was traded to Chivas from the Galaxy for a third-round pick in the 2012 supplemental draft. Major League Soccer's leading scorer over the last four seasons should give the team a much-needed shot in the arm. "Since the first day I arrived, I've been asked, 'Who's going to score goals for you?'" Coach Robin Fraser said in a release. "I have said all along that we would score goals by committee … Certainly now we have a player who is renowned for scoring goals." However Angel's productivity has tapered this season: He had three goals and one assist in 22 games with the Galaxy. A Chivas official said Angel traveled with the team and is eligible to play, but it is unclear if he will see action.
