Mixologist Zahra Bates is constantly dreaming up new creations for the cocktail program at Providence. Her drinks are fresh and unique and made to inspire conviviality and conversation. Currently she is whipping up a pleasingly tart number called the Wonderland. Smooth, icy vodka mingles with fresh lemon juice. The resulting pucker is mellowed by a lavender-infused agave nectar and the sophisticated sweetness of Limoncello and lychee. This drink is pitch-perfect after-work refreshment.
The Wonderland by Zahra Bates
2 ounces Zubrowka vodka
1/4 ounce Limoncello
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/4 ounce lavender agave*
3/4 ounce lychee puree
Put all liquids into Boston shaker and shake with one small ice cube. Strain into an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
* Make a tea of lavender buds, fine strain and add to agave nectar until it is a syrup.
