Cincinnati traded struggling outfielder Jonny Gomes to Washington for two minor league players and called up Yonder Alonso to take his spot on the roster.

Gregg and Ortiz were fined and suspended for three games each. Orioles Manager Buck Showalter was fined and suspended one game after Gonzalez retaliated.
Gonzalez initially appealed but dropped the case after being told his penalty would not be reduced.
