There will be four stakes run during an 11-race card Saturday at Hollywood Park and an 11 a.m. first post in conjunction with the simulcast of the Belmont Stakes. In addition, 25 gourmet food trucks will be at the Inglewood track beginning at 10 a.m. as part of a food truck festival.
The featured stakes is the $250,000 Grade I Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap at 1 1/4 miles on the turf. Acclamation, a 5-year-old son of Unusual Heat, will try to become the first horse to win both the Jim Murray Memorial Handicap and the Whittingham Handicap twice. Bourbon Bay, a multiple graded stakes winner, figures to offer strong competition.
Also on the card is the $150,000 Grade II Honeymoon Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at 11/8 miles on the turf. Cambina, whose three-race win streak ended when she was third in the Senorita Stakes, will return to the distance she won at April 9 at Santa Anita in the Providencia Stakes.
The $100,000 Grade III Affirmed Handicap brings together 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles. Trainer Bob Baffert will be represented by Coil and Awesome Patriot.
There's also the first stakes for 2-year-old fillies, the $70,000 Cinderella Stakes at 51/2 furlongs.
The Cinderella will be the third race on the card, with the Whittingham fourth, the Affirmed seventh and the Honeymoon the 10th race.
