SATURDAY'S GAMES

Boys

CITY SECTION DIVISION 1

Westchester (26-6) vs. Woodland Hills Taft (26-2), 1 p.m. at the Galen Center — From the opening day of practice, Taft has been the heavy favorite to win its third City title, but 11-time champion Westchester has ambitions of pulling off the upset. The key issue is how much Westchester has improved since losing to the Toreadors by 11 points on Dec. 4. The versatile Robert Gsellman will try to make some three-pointers for the Comets. Taft has the edge at guard with veterans Spencer Dinwiddie and Khiry Williams. Taft Coach Derrick Taylor is 0-3 vs. Westchester in City finals.

SOUTHERN SECTION 1AA

Corona Centennial (27-3) vs. Long Beach Poly (28-1), 6 p.m. at Anaheim Convention Center — All eyes will be on Poly point guard Alexis Moore, who must deal with Centennial's full-court pressure and the Huskies' attempts to create chaos on defense. If Moore keeps his team calm and focused, the Jackrabbits should win their 19th section title. They also have a height advantage with 6-foot-7 Ryan Anderson. Centennial will rely on its three talented seniors — Michael Caffey, Dominique Dunning and Gelaun Wheelwright.

Girls

CITY SECTION DIVISION 1

Harbor City Narbonne (29-3) vs. Carson (18-10), 11 a.m. at the Galen Center

The Marine League rivals played in last year's final and Carson won, 53-47. This year, top-seeded Narbonne has beaten second-seeded Carson by more than 10 points in each of their two meetings. Atoe' Jackson leads the Gauchos with averages of 13.3 points and 10.3 rebounds a game and Tailer Butler averages 12. 5 points. For the Colts, Janitah Iamaleava averages 13.1 points and 8.9 rebounds and Chante Miles averages 12 points.
