Philip Glass Many people know the composer from his elegantly minimalist film scores for movies such as "Koyaanisqatsi," "The Thin Blue Line" and "The Hours," but he has also amassed a body of work that incorporates opera, concertos and other compositions. Glass will discuss his acclaimed work about the pharaoh with Long Beach Opera Music Director Andreas Mitisek. Bing Theater at LACMA, 5905 Wilshire Blvd. 2 p.m. $25-$40. (323) 857-6000; lacma.org
