Dodgers 6, Milwaukee 6 (10 innings)

AT THE PLATE: With Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp out of the lineup and Randy Wolf starting for the Brewers, the Dodgers scored only twice in the first seven innings. Trailing, 6-2, they scored three runs in an eighth inning in which Gabe Kapler and Hector Gimenez doubled. Gimenez, who was one for four with a run batted in, is hitting .345. The Dodgers sent the game into extra innings on a run-scoring single by Juan Castro in the bottom of the ninth inning.

ON THE MOUND: Hiroki Kuroda was charged with three runs and nine hits in 52/3 innings, but Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly said he wasn't concerned. "He didn't get beat up or anything," Mattingly said, noting that most of the balls that fell for hits weren't hit sharply. Scott Elbert, who has suffered from command problems this spring, pitched a perfect eighth inning.

Dodgers' Andre Ethier shows much more maturity

EXTRA BASES: While left fielder Marcus Thames has the reputation of being a poor defender, Mattingly said he hasn't seen anything that leads him to believe Thames will be a liability. "I've heard the rumblings, but I've never seen it," Mattingly said. "I know it's not maybe Gold Glove, but I've never seen it where it's ugly. I don't know if that's a compliment or not."

UP NEXT: John Ely faces the Chicago White Sox and Gavin Floyd at Camelback Ranch at 1 p.m. PDT Sunday.
