Kitchen Inventors: The premiere of this new product series looks at an ice huggy, a wine balloon and buffet bowl and profiles the largest housewares manufacturer (8:30 p.m. Food).


Race to the Bottom of the Earth: Todd Carmichael attempts to trek solo and unaided 700 miles across Antarctica to the South Pole in a documentary that was the winner of the best documentary feature award at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood (6 and 9 p.m. National Geographic).

American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards: Humanity's best friend gets an extra special pat with this award ceremony for the canines that go above and beyond the call of enriching lives by also saving them, risking their own safety for our benefit (8 p.m. Hallmark).


Geek Charming: Sarah Hyland stars in this new comedy as a popular high-school junior who agrees to be the subject of a geeky film student's (Matt Prokop) latest documentary (8 p.m. Disney).
