Your Scene: Desert landscape in Arizona

A feature highlighting photos from Times readers.

November 12, 2011
(Tim Jones )

Tim Jones, a boom operator, was on his way to Oklahoma in September to work on a movie when he spent the night in the Navajo Nation capital, Window Rock, Ariz., which gets its name from this formation. Jones decided to take advantage of the starkly dark night in order to capture this star-filled scene.

The La Crescenta resident used a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi with an ISO of 1600 and exposure time of 92 seconds.
