This month sees the debut of AKA Bistro's new spirits-tasting series featuring bottles handpicked by "liquid chef" Brady Weise. The tastings take place Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 5 p.m., with the featured spirit changing monthly. September celebrates the heady magic of tequila, and Weise, who has worked with celebrated mixologists Pablo Moix and Marcos Tello, has crafted specialty cocktails that patrons can have made with their bottle of choice. A good option is the El Corazon, which blends tequila with Aperol and sweet vermouth. Who knew that putting Italy and Mexico together in a single glass would make so much sense?
