Update: The Kings, coming off a hectic schedule in terms of games and travel, stayed off the ice Sunday and worked out in the weight room at their practice facility in El Segundo. Kings forward Jeff Carter (ankle) will see a specialist Monday for more extensive tests. He was injured in the third period against Calgary on Wednesday and missed the games at Edmonton and Minnesota and has been on crutches and using a walking boot. Edmonton defensemen Ladislav Smid and Jeff Petry, who were injured in the game against the Kings on Friday, did not make the trip with the team to Southern California.
