Homeless in vehicles: An article about homeless RV dwellers in the April 2 LATExtra section said that, from 2009 to 2011, the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys had seen a 66% increase in the number of homeless people taking up residence in motor vehicles on public streets, while the rest of the county experienced a drop of 65%. In fact, the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys experienced a 57% increase, while the rest of the county experienced a 35% decrease, according to figures provided by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.

Mike Wallace: In the April 9 Calendar section, an article about the legacy of "60 Minutes" correspondent Mike Wallace said that he honed his hard-hitting interview style in the 1940s and 1950s on the ABC-TV news program "The Mike Wallace Interview." "The Mike Wallace Interview," which aired in 1957-58, was one of several programs on which Wallace honed his style in the 1940s and 1950s.

Wayne Hoffman: The obituary in the April 10 LATExtra section of Wayne M. Hoffman, the retired chairman of Tiger International, the parent company of the Flying Tiger Line, said that the American Volunteer Group fighter pilots known as the Flying Tigers flew combat missions in China against the Japanese before the United States entered World War II. The Flying Tigers first saw combat on Dec. 20, 1941, after the U.S. entered the war.
