Lakers will play Denver Nuggets in first round of playoffs

The Lakers will open the playoffs against the Nuggets on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center.

It's official. The Lakers will host the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

The Lakers beat the Nuggets, 3-1 in the season series, though Metta World Peace likely will be absent for the entire series. He'd only appear if the series went to a Game 7. We'll have much more analysis soon. But for now, below is the schedule:

Game 1 - @ Staples Center, Sunday 12:30 p.m. PDT (ABC) 

Game 2 - @ Staples Center, Tuesday 7:30 p.m. PDT (TNT) 

Game 3 - @ Denver, Friday 7:30 p.m. PDT (ESPN) 

Game 4 - @ Denver, Sunday 6:30 p.m. PDT (TNT)

Game 5 - @ Staples Center, Tuesday May 8*

Game 6 - @ Denver, Thursday May 10*

Game 7 @ Staples Center, Saturday May 12*
