U.S. gymnast McKayla Maroney was not impressed with her second-place finish in the Olympic women's vault competition on Sunday.

"Disappointed on how today turned out, but everything happens for a reason!! #noregrets," she tweeted after the event. "Plus, the silver medal is actually pretty sick!!"

But Maroney was unable to hide her true emotions just moments after she received her medal, and a photographer caught her with her arms folded, eyes like ice, and a mighty scowl swallowing the bottom half of her face.

It's a face and a stance that perfectly captures a certain type of adolescent attitude, and now it has inspired the first Internet meme of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Thanks to the power of Photoshop, visitors to the Tumblr site "McKayla is not impressed" will see Maroney making that same face at the first pictures sent by Curiosity, the Mars rover; the Great Wall of China; Apple's new operating system OSX Mountain Lion; a butter cow and a double rainbow.

She just stands in front or behind these wonders of our world and scowls.

The site even includes a handy cut out of Maroney making her unimpressed face so that people can create their own images MacKayla is not impressed

The "McKayla is not impressed" Tumblr follows in the grand tradition of the "Spock is not impressed" Tumblr blog. It was created by Gavin Alaoen, a 28-year-old digital designer based in New York, the Wall Street Journal reported.

In an interview with the Journal, Alaoen seemed happy with the attention his Internet meme has received, but not overly impressed.

"It's just a two-or-three-week kind of thing," he said. "It's a hot topic right now. And then it's on to the next one."

As for McKayla, she seems relatively impressed with it all. On her Twitter feed, she retweeted this: "OMG THIS WEBSITE LOL @McKaylaMaroneyhttp://mckaylaisnotimpressed.tumblr.com."/
