LONDON -- It was one of the more frightening-looking accidents at the Olympics.
Field-hockey player Katie Glynn of New Zealand fell to the turf, head bloodied, after getting hit hard by the stick of her opponent from the Netherlands.
In true hockey tradition, she would return to action after having her wound stitched, stapled and covered with a heavy wrap. Glynn later joked on her own Twitter account that she looked like a "conehead."
New Zealand ended up losing to the Netherlands in a penalty shootout in their semifinal game Wednesday but will play Great Britain for the bronze medal on Saturday.
