"It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday," Lozada said in an email via her publicist.
"I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time."
Meanwhile, Davie, Fla., police have released the 911 tape of a neighbor's 911 call Saturday night while Lozada sat bleeding in his home following the incident.
The neighbor is calm as he describes the situation to the dispatcher, repeatedly telling him that the situation involves a "high profile person" and that the police should not make a big scene when they arrive.
"We don't need the news here," the caller tells the dispatcher.
Lozada can be heard in the background providing details, at one point telling her neighbor that Johnson "head-butted me."
Johnson has since been cut from the Miami Dolphins and a VH1 reality show featuring the couple has been cancelled.
