Chad Johnson cut by Miami as 'Hard Knocks' cameras roll [Video]

<p>Chad Johnson might have been the star of "Hard Knocks," the HBO reality show focusing on the Miami Dolphins' training camp this season. But he wasn't going to be a star for the Miami Dolphins on the football field.</p><p>That was probably clear before the veteran wide receiver even got there, following his dismal season with the New England Patriots. And, of course, the next night Johnson was arrested after allegedly head-butting his wife, Evelyn Lozada, who has since filed for divorce.</p><p>Johnson was released on bail the next day, and then he was released by the Dolphins. But not before appearing in one last must-see segment of "Hard Knocks" as Philbin struggled his way through informing the former Pro Bowler of the team's decision.</p><p>Philbin tried to deliver the news in the gentlest way possible, telling Johnson it was best for all involved that they "kinda part ways." How's that for an awkward breakup?</p><p>And it got worse. Johnson sat in silence as his now-former coach eventually resorted to sputtering out sentence fragments -- "I'm certain you can overcome this thing ... is there anything ... more ... I mean ...?" -- before finally letting the poor guy off the hook by thanking him for the opportunity.</p><p>Obviously, it was a tough situation for both men.
