Christina Milian, Jamie Lynn-Sigler brighten C. Wonder opening

Singer Christina Milian and actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler were on hand last week for the West Coast opening of C. Wonder at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The new store from entrepreneur Christopher Burch (designer Tory Burch's ex-husband) offers customers affordable lifestyle products including women’s apparel and accessories, home decor and personal electronics. The average price of C. Wonder products is under $40. The store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.  


Footwear and accessories designer Calleen Cordero will appear at a special event from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday to showcase her new collaboration with Madison Fred Segal for the upcoming fall season. Madison Fred Segal has created a large space to launch the line of footwear, handbags and belts. The event will be in the store at 500 Broadway, Santa Monica. Guests can enjoy complimentary cocktails, refreshments and a 10% discount on purchases.

Luke Perry is scheduled to appear at an Old Navy event from noon to 4 p.m. Friday. He'll be greeting fans as they get the chance to customize denim styles at the store at 7470 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles. Denim customization will continue (sans Perry) from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. 

The Bloomingdales in Century City will feature Jewelry by Liza Shtromberg in a trunk show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The designer will show off her one-of-a-kind pieces and a variety of custom wedding and engagement rings. The store is at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles.

Two-time Grammy Award winner Macy Gray will perform at a free concert at the Americana at Brand at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The outdoor show will be opened by "American Idol" third runner-up Haley Reinhart.  The shopping and entertainment complex is at 889 Americana Way, Glendale.

On Saturday, the Sewing Studio in Pasadena, in collaboration with the Lineage Performing Arts Center, plans to host a showcase of local students’ handmade creations from 1 to 3 p.m. The public can learn about classes at the center and celebrate fashion design and dance at 89 S. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena.


Black Halo hosts a warehouse sale from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Items  from the fall 2011 and spring 2012 collections will be up to 75% off. The sale is located at 648 S. Mateo St., Los Angeles.

A Trina Turk sample sale will be going on the two same days, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The sale will include women's apparel, menswear from Mr. Turk and items for the home. Prices start at $15. The sale is at 3025 W. Mission Road, Alahambra.
