Update: The Galaxy, still smarting from its March quarterfinal loss in its last CONCACAF Champions League game, gets started on a new CCL campaign against the winner of five of the last eight First Division titles in El Salvador. And like the Galaxy, the Salvadoran club made it to the quarterfinals of the last CCL before being eliminated. Both teams are in group play, with Isidro Metapan having won its opener, 3-1, over the Puerto Rico Islanders. This will be the Galaxy's first game of the four-game first stage and the defending Major League Soccer champion will be facing added pressure since only the winner of the three-team group advances to the next round. With the London Olympics over, the Galaxy is hoping to have David Beckham on the field for the second time in a month.
