This week's TV Movies

“Dial M for Murder” – or text “murder” to 7726; standard text-messaging rates may apply. Ray Milland and Grace Kelly star in this 1954 thriller, based on a hit stage play, and directed by suspense-meister Alfred Hitchcock. (KCET, 9 and 11 p.m.)

So it's a little preachy. And sure, it's easy to critique media coverage of breaking news many months after the fact. That said, “The Newsroom” is still pretty darn entertaining – plus, it has Olivia Munn. The drama from “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin ends its first season tonight. (HBO, 10 p.m.)

They're forever, they're a girl's best friend, and the ones measuring high in the “4 Cs” — cut, color, clarity and carat — will set you back serious coin. See how these precious gems are mined and marketed in the special “The Diamond Rush.” (CNBC, 6 and 9 p.m.)

We love “The L.A. Complex.” We just wish more people did, so we'll take any excuse to give it a mention. The underappreciated showbiz dramedy moves to its new night and time. With Jonathan Patrick Moore and Jewel Staite. (KTLA, 8 p.m.)

Close and closer: The Duggars and their super-sized brood return on “19 Kids and Counting,” and the docu-series “Abby & Brittany,” featuring 22-year-old conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel, debuts with two episodes. (TLC, 9, 10 and 10:30 p.m.)

More season finales: The sitcoms “Melissa & Joey” and “Baby Daddy” wrap things up, likewise the animated sci-fi spoof “Futurama” and the sports drama “Necessary Roughness.” (ABC Family, 8 and 8:30 p.m.; Comedy Central, 10 p.m.; USA, 10 p.m.)

Are you ready for some College Football? The season kicks off with South Carolina versus Vanderbilt and Washington State versus BYU and ramps up on Saturday with a full slate of games including USC versus Hawaii. (ESPN, 4 and 7:15 p.m; Fox, 4:30 p.m. Sat.)

1915. A world at war. A torpedo from a German U-boat sends a British passenger liner and nearly 1,200 souls to the bottom of the Atlantic, a fatal and fateful encounter revisited in the special “Dark Secrets of the Lusitania.” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.)

A bro for all seasons: Paul Rudd (above, with Elizabeth Banks) is “Our Idiot Brother” in this quirky 2011 comedy. “New Girl's” Zooey Deschanel, “The Newsroom's” Emily Mortimer and “Parks and Rec's” Rashida Jones also star. (Showtime, 8 p.m.)
