Taco Bell has sold more than 200 million Doritos-flavored tacos since the fast-food treat debuted in March, making it the most successful new product in the chain's 50-year history.
I don't know whether this is a tribute to Taco Bell's marketing skill or a commentary on the culinary tastes of the American people.
The $1.29 Doritos Locos taco features a nacho cheese-flavored Doritos shell. It's stuffed with seasoned beef, lettuce and tomatoes, and served in a Doritos-branded "taco jacket." That's "wrapper" to you and me.
So how do you follow a slam-dunk like that? Taco Bell is already cooking up two new shell flavors: Flamas and Cool Ranch. They're being tested at various outlets.
