For her speech Tuesday to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.,  Ann Romney opted for Oscar de la Renta.

According to a report by our Times compatriot Robin Abcarian, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney wore "a brilliant red Oscar de la Renta dress — belted at the waist, with elbow-length sleeves and a slightly belled skirt."

Although speculation about the dress she would be wearing for the important occasion had reached a fever pitch over the last few days, according to another Times colleague, Maeve Reston, Mrs. Romney still hadn't made a definite decision as late as Tuesday morning.
