Bret Easton Ellis, the author of the controversial "American Psycho" and other novels, has created quite an online reputation for himself with his Twitter feed, through which he has picked fights with Nikki Finke, Lindsay Lohan and now Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow.
Three years ago, Bigelow became the first woman ever to win a best director Oscar for her film "The Hurt Locker." This year, she appears to be a contender again with her Osama bin Laden manhunt movie, "Zero Dark Thirty."
However, Ellis doesn't seem as enamored with Bigelow's talents as some, tweeting on Wednesday night, "Kathryn Bigelow would be considered a mildly interesting filmmaker if she was a man but since she's a very hot woman she's really overrated."
"Zero Dark Thirty" has already been named best film of 2012 both by the National Board of Review and the New York Film Critics Circle and will surely be honored by several other organizations before the awards season ends.
