Letters: Humane is hip

Re "A cheaper T-shirt or a human life?," Editorial, Dec. 17

It's true that consumers may not care whether foreign-made goods were produced humanely, but I believe most Americans would prefer to buy products that are.

As consumers, we have no way of knowing at the time we make a purchase. Companies that can truthfully promote their brand as humane would be sure to benefit from it.
