For 2013, the Wanderlust Festival will abandon the mountains and snow of California's Squaw Valley for the sand and surf of Oahu's Turtle Bay Resort

The festival, which runs Feb. 28-March 3, blends yoga with great food and wine in what's billed as a one-of-a-kind festival inspired by nature’s beauty.

“It’s always been a dream to bring [the gathering] to the beach," co-founder Jeff Krasno said in a news release. "Wanderlust Oahu will be unlike any other festival we've thrown. It will bring together our mindful community of top-tier yoga teachers, leading musical acts and inspiring speakers, and mix in top-notch surf instruction and authentic North Shore culture."

"Mindful living" is described as “a conscious, value-based approach to leading a sane  and healthy life.” Yoga is at its core. Other principles include eating well, being green and creating awareness of issues as wide-ranging as disease, the environment and politics.

Healthful activities, including plenty of yoga lessons along Turtle Bay’s nearly five miles of beach, will dominate the daytime. At night, food and wine will blend with DJs and live music from such performers as John Cruz and ALO.

Admission varies from $108 for single-day passes on Thursday or Sunday to $475 for a four-day pass. Tickets and more information are available online. Accommodations at the 840-acre  Turtle Bay Resort are not included in admission prices.
