Long Beach State gets another Big West win

Larry Anderson's 16 points leads five 49ers in double figures in a 75-67 victory over Cal State Northridge.

at Long Beach State 75, Cal State Northridge 67: Larry Anderson led five 49ers in double figures with 16 points as Long Beach (17-6, 10-0 Big West) pulled away in the second half for its 18th consecutive conference win and 19th in a row at home. The Matadors fell to 6-15, 2-8.

at Cal State Fullerton 99, UC Santa Barbara 86: Kwame Vaughn scored 37 points, making five of seven three-pointers, to lead the Titans (15-7, 7-3 Big West) over the Gauchos (12-8, 7-3), who got 28 points from Orlando Johnson.

at UC Riverside 59, UC Davis 54: The Highlanders, playing without leading scorer Phil Martin, had to work to hold off the last-place Aggies (1-21, 0-10 Big West). B.J. Shearry had 17 points and 10 rebounds for UC Riverside (5-5, 11-12).

Pacific 72, at UC Irvine 64: Travis Fulton, Lorenzo McCloud and Ross Rivera combined for 45 points to spark the Tigers (9-13, 5-5 Big West). The Anteaters (9-14, 5-5) had five double-figure scorers, but it wasn't enough.

at Loyola Marymount 90, San Francisco 88: Drew Viney scored 20 points, including the go-ahead basket with 54 seconds left, and the Lions (15-9, 8-3 West Coast) rallied from a 19-point deficit against the Dons (15-9, 5-6).

No. 24 Gonzaga 72, at Pepperdine 60: Kevin Pangos and Robert Sacre each scored 15 points and the Bulldogs (18-4, 8-2 WCC) held off the Waves (8-15, 2-10), winning their 22nd straight in the series. Corbin Moore had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Pepperdine (8-15, 2-10).

at Cal State Bakersfield 69, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 66: Zach Lamb scored 15 points to lead the Roadrunners (12-12) in the nonconference game. Chris Eversley led the Mustangs (13-11) with 18 points.

WOMEN

at UCLA 73, Washington State 52: Markel Walker had UCLA's first triple-double in eight years with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Rebekah Gardner added 21 points for the Bruins (12-10, 7-4 Pac-12). The Cougars fell to 10-13, 4-7.
