Update: The Ducks made a trade with Winnipeg, but it was not the deal Jets fans have been dreaming about. (Sorry, Teemu Selanne stays in Anaheim.) Instead, it was a swap of minor league centers: The Ducks sent Maxime Macenauer to Winnipeg for Riley Holzapfel on Monday. Holzapfel will go straight to the Ducks' American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y. Then there was the daily Ducks move with Syracuse, as the team brought back defenseman Nate Guenin. Since Jan. 1, the Ducks have put together the third-best record in the NHL (tied with the New York Rangers), trailing Detroit and St. Louis. Minnesota, which had the league's best record at Thanksgiving, is in a free fall. The Wild has lost its last four games and suffered two recent losses to Columbus, the league's worst team. Back in the lineup for Minnesota is Mikko Koivu, the younger brother of the Ducks' Saku Koivu. Mikko Koivu came back last week after sitting out eight games because of an injured left shoulder.
