Kohls sell Santa Monica penthouse

The department store family's condo, which has 360-degree views, sells for $10.5 million. The high-rise was remodeled in 2004 and features 24-hour security, a fitness facility, gardens and fountains.

Allen and Anita Kohl of the Kohl's department store family have sold their Santa Monica penthouse for $10.5 million.

The condo takes up the top floor of the building and has 360-degree views. The high-rise, built in 1963 and remodeled in 2004, has 24-hour security, a fitness facility, gardens and fountains.

The penthouse's features include a rooftop deck with a spa and barbecue, two direct access elevators, a library, an office, a media room, two master suites, balconies and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass. There are five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and more than 8,000 square feet of living space in the unit.

The Kohls bought the property in 2003 for $8.1 million, according to public records. It came on the market in October at $12.995 million.

Jody Fine of Prudential California Realty in Pacific Palisades was the listing agent. Joshua Altman and Matt Altman of the Altman Brothers, Hilton & Hyland in Beverly Hills and David Solomon of Prudential California Realty in Brentwood represented the buyer.
