With their off-season signings of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, the Angels entered the season pegged as a favorite to win what would be the franchise's second World Series title.
Those expectations appeared to be in tatters following a 6-14 start that led to hitting coach Mickey Hatcher's firing and questions surrounding Manager Mike Scioscia's ability to get the most from his talented club.
But those early-season woes look as distant as a Mike Trout home run.
Since Trout's promotion from triple-A Salt Lake in late April, the Angels are a major league-best 42-24. Their 6-0 victory over Baltimore on Sunday was the Angels' 13th shutout victory, pushing them to a season-best 10 games over .500.
But are the Angels looking for more?
