Nina Arianda's career has been on a hot streak since she wowed audiences in David Ives' drama "Venus in Fur," which debuted at the Classic Stage Co. in New York and transferred to Broadway last year. In June, Arianda won a Tony for lead actress in a play.
The actress has reportedly signed on to play Janis Joplin in a new film project from director Sean Durkin, whose most recent film was the indie hit"Martha Marcy May Marlene." As reported by Deadline, Arianda will sing in her own voice for the movie that is expected to begin shooting next year.
