May the gavel be with you. Heritage Auctions-Beverly Hills' latest vintage movie posters auction has a few goodies for “Star Wars” fans.
Among the treasures from a galaxy of offerings is a 1978 poster for a concert by composer John Williams. It's autographed by writer-director George Lucas, art directed by Suzy Rice and illustrated by John Alvin, who depicts C-3PO and R2-D2 holding orchestra instruments. The poster is valued from $5,000-$8,000 because it was never used in promotions or released publicly -- and of course, there's that famous signature.
Also among the items at the auction, to be held July 25-26, is a "Star Wars” silk screen banner from 1977, estimated at $3,000-$6,000 because very few were made and even fewer were ordered by exhibitors.
A 1991 Russian half-sheet “Star Wars” poster depicts the space adventure as a cowboy tale. In fact, the poster, designed by Aleksandr Kulov, is called “Star Wars: A Galactic Western.” There are very few of these posters in existence.
