Gear: BubbleBum gives your child a lift

June 09, 2012|By Judi Dash | Special to the Los Angeles Times

What to do when your child needs a boost but there's no booster seat at hand? Just pull out the BubbleBum, a lightweight, inflatable car booster seat designed to give a lift to children ages 4 to 11, weighing 40 to 100 pounds.

The bright purple seat, which comes in a stuff bag, measures 13 inches square by 4 1/2 inches deep, has a core of memory foam for stability and folds nearly flat for storage.

An integrated belt-positioning clip works with the vehicle's seat belt to secure the child. Of course, a full-fledged booster seat is the preferred resource, but the BubbleBum, which sells for $39.99,  can come in handy on short notice.

Info: BubbleBum, (800) 969-6586.
