Update: Not only is the Galaxy coming off its first win in eight games, but in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Portland Timbers, the team showed flashes of the form that carried it to the MLS title last season. Now it faces the club that leads the league in wins, points and goal differential. What's more, Real Salt Lake is an MLS-best 6-1 at home and is riding a league-best seven-game unbeaten streak. "I don't think there's any doubt that Salt Lake's the best team in the league," Galaxy captain Landon Donovan said. "They look confident and comfortable. And they're firing on all cylinders, so it's a real good test." The Galaxy will get midfielders Mike Magee, Michael Stephens and Hector Jimenez back from suspensions, but striker Robbie Keane, the team leader in goals, has yet to return from the Irish national team and 37-year-old midfielder David Beckham, the leader in assists, could also sit out this one. Beckham put in a full day of training Tuesday, but Wednesday's game is the second of three in a seven-game stretch for the Galaxy.
