BET’s hit series, “The Game,” which recently lost its two leads, has added a new cast member.

Jay Ellis, who has appeared in small roles in several series including “Hart of Dixie” and “NCIS,” will join the series as it moves into its sixth season. Ellis joins previously announced Laurie London as a new addition to the show, which revolves around the members of a fictional San Diego football team and their significant others.

Ellis will play Bryce “The Blueprint” Westbrook, a.k.a. “Blue, a star running back from an Ivy League school who has a tendency to rub his new professional teammates the wrong way.

Ellis’ character will eventually become involved with London’s character, a former child star struggling to transition into adult roles.

The two performers replace Tia Mowry Hardict and Pooch Hall, the original leads of the series, who left the show to pursue other projects.
