Chasing UFOs:  In this new series team investigates reports of strange lights in the skies over two Texas towns (9 p.m. National Geographic). A second new episode investigates reports in central California at 10 p.m.

Louisiana Lockdown: In this new episode a new inmate who's just arrived to serve a life sentence, meets his grandfather, also a lifer, for the first time (10 p.m. Animal Planet).

Flying Wild Alaska:  The Iditarod dog sled race begins and a search is launched for lost snow-machiners (10 p.m. Discovery).


Mariachi High — PBS Arts: PBS' Summer Arts Festival kicks off with this film that follows a year in the life of the champion mariachi ensemble at Zapata High School in South Texas (9 p.m. KOCE).
