United and Delta are the latest airlines to replace or upgrade bins to hold more luggage, the Associated Press reports. Expanding bins is a smart way for airlines to set themselves apart, says Henry Harteveldt, who leads airline and travel analysis at Atmosphere Research Group, a market research firm. “Especially if they cater to the business traveler, they're hoping it will give them a small but noticeable competitive advantage” . . . . The Los Angeles Clippers have announced a new partnership with Virgin America . . . .  Brian Head Resort, three hours northeast of Las Vegas in southern Utah, has extended its season a week, to April 15. Look for 25% off spring break lodging and lift ticket deals here . . . . Yosemite National Park says that Big Oak Flat Road (Highway 120 within the park) will reopen both lanes of traffic Saturday morning. The closure and road repairs were necessary after a large rockslide severely damaged the route Jan. 22 . . . . Rod Stewart begins an eight-show run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas beginning March 24 . . . .  Rí Rá Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay celebrates its one-year anniversary with a St. Patrick’s Day festival, March 16-17. The two-day celebration features live music, giveaways and a parade . . . . You can also celebrate all weekend long at Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, where guests who sport a kilt on St. Patrick’s Day will receive complimentary admission . . . . Gusty, dry winds hit 77 mph at Red Rock Canyon and 60 mph near the Las Vegas Strip this week, causing scattered power outages, uprooting trees, pulling roofs and awnings from buildings and delaying flights . . . . The iconic Nantucket Hotel & Resort  reopens its doors this summer after a multi-year rebuild. The 60-room, turn-of-the-century resort has been doubled in size and completely refurbished . . . .
