When you think of the San Francisco 49ers, it's hard not to think of quarterbacks. That's the kind of imprint Hall of Famers Joe Montana and Steve Young left on that franchise.

But did you know that with the signing Monday of Randy Moss, four of the top five receivers in career yards have been members of the 49ers?

In order, that's Jerry Rice, of course, with 22,895; Terrell Owens with 15,934; Isaac Bruce with 15,208; and Moss with 14,858. The only receiver in the top five who didn't play for San Francisco was fourth-place Tim Brown (14,934), and he played just across the bay in Oakland.

As it happens, Rice, Brown and Moss also wore the Silver & Black of the Raiders.

Moss, who signed a one-year deal shortly after working out for the 49ers on Monday, said he can have an effect on the league's 29th-ranked passing attack and that he's "ready to bring the fans out of their seats."

"It was very intriguing for me to reach out to the 49ers and come to give them everything I had today," he told reporters Monday. "It’s obvious they like what they saw. I don’t want to let them down. I want to get back to what I do, and that’s playing football and stretching the field."
